Warranty

Manufacturer's warranty/warranty terms and service for SachsenRAD e-bikes (as of 06/2026), provided by LEICKE GmbH, Stöhrerstr. 17, 04347 Leipzig:

Warranty:
You may make warranty claims within a maximum period of 24 months from the date of purchase. The warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the damaged component/e-bike at our discretion. Our warranty is always free of charge for you. However, it does not apply if defects other than material and manufacturing defects are identified.

Frame warranty:
A five-year warranty against breakage is provided for the frame. The warranty begins on the date of purchase. In the event of a broken frame, we offer you an exchange of the e-bike or a credit note, less a usage fee, upon presentation of proof of purchase. The amount of the usage fee depends on the period since you purchased the e-bike. The warranty does not apply if defects other than material and manufacturing defects are identified, or if you have drilled holes in the frame, for example, to install accessories. The warranty on the electronics of your e-bike also expires in this case.

Battery warranty:

We provide a 12-month warranty on the proper functioning of the battery. The warranty begins on the date of purchase. The warranty remedy is limited to the repair or replacement of the battery at the discretion of SachsenRAD. The warranty remedy is always free of charge for you. The warranty does not apply if defects other than material and manufacturing defects are identified. Changes due to wear and tear, such as normal age- and usage-related capacity losses, do not constitute a warranty case.

General

  1. The warranty or guarantee claim must be proven by presenting the buyer's proof of purchase.
  2. The investigation of the malfunction and its causes is always carried out by SachsenRAD. Components replaced under warranty or guarantee become our property.
  3. In the event of a justified warranty or guarantee claim, the shipping costs and the costs of removal and installation are borne by SachsenRAD.
  4. If the e-bike has been modified by third parties or by the installation of third-party parts, or if the defects that occurred are directly related to the modification, the warranty and guarantee claim expires. Furthermore, it expires if the instructions on the handling and use of the bicycle provided in the user manual have not been followed. This applies in particular to the intended use as well as the care and maintenance instructions.
  5. The following are not covered by the warranty or guarantee:
    • a) Components subject to wear, consumption, or abrasion (except in cases of clear material or manufacturing defects), such as: tires, light sources, saddles, brake components, stands, battery/accumulator, chains, sprockets, grips, fuses, shift gears, stickers/decals, cables, control cables, etc.
    • b) Damage attributable to:
      - the non-use of original spare parts
      - tampering with the motor control unit's control software (including de-throttling, tuning, etc.)
      - the improper installation of components by the buyer or a third party.
      - damage caused by stone chips, hail, road salt, industrial emissions, inadequate care, unsuitable care products, etc.
    • c) Consumables that are not related to repair work on recognized malfunctions.
    • d) all maintenance work or other work caused by wear, accidents, operating conditions, or riding in disregard of the manufacturer's specifications.
    • e) all occurrences, such as noise, vibrations, color changes, wear, etc., that do not impair the basic and riding characteristics.
    • f) costs for maintenance, inspection, and cleaning work.
  6. The warranty or guarantee claim entitles the customer only to demand the rectification of the defect. Claims for return or reduction of the purchase price only apply after failed attempts at rectification. Compensation for indirect or direct damage is not provided.
  7. The performance of a warranty or guarantee remedy neither renews nor extends the warranty or guarantee period. Claims after the expiration of the period are excluded.
  8. Any warranty and guarantee terms other than those listed above are only valid if they are confirmed in writing by SachsenRAD.
